The Friends of
the Library is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide support
for the library and its many activities while having fun at the same time.
The Friends believe that the GEP Dodge Library is one of Bennington's
greatest assets and will work to encourage community participation and pride
in our local library.Friends help the
library in many ways. Our goal is to organize fundraising activities to
benefit the library by helping to improve the library's collections and
services. Membership dues are the primary source of funding for the
Friends and will be used to sponsor special library projects, purchase
museum passes for library patrons, and offset expenses for other worthwhile
projects. We are looking for and welcoming people who would like to be a
part of this organization. Just by writing your name and joining, you help
us to build community support.
It's easy to join! Fill out a membership
form and pay your dues. Then feel free to show-up to a meeting or just
sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Memberships start at $5.00
and are open to anyone who has an interest in our library. The Friends
will meet twice a year at the library, dates and times will be posted prior
to meetings. Anyone interested may attend a meeting.
